The Headley with Ashford Hill Community Shop is run by the community for the local community on a not for profit basis. The community took over the existing shop in 2008 and moved to its present premises at The Old Baptist Chapel in Thornford Road in 2011 where the Association is the tenant of the Greenham Trust.
The Shop and Post Office is run by a management committee and employs six staff with a happy band of volunteers assisting in the shop and with newspaper deliveries at the weekend and bank holidays
We are always ready to welcome new volunteers so if you have a few hours spare each week and would like to help with serving customers, shelf stacking, stock taking/monitoring or paper arrangement deliveries, please call in at the shop and chat to a member of the team.
The shop is at the heart of the community and a friendly place to be and work. Our ethos is to provide a service to the community. Our supervisors, Serena and Kerina, frequently accept orders over the phone, particularly from the more vulnerable members of the community. We offer a free delivery service within a four mile radius of the shop for orders over £20
